Bloomberg reveals why Hegseth urgently gathered hundreds of generals

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has decided to summon hundreds of American generals for an emergency meeting to discuss the country’s defense strategy, Bloomberg reports.
Trump and Vance react to the meeting
US President Donald Trump, commenting on the urgent gathering, said it was good that generals were coming together with the head of the Pentagon.
"Why is that such a big deal? You act like this is a bad thing," Trump said.
For his part, US Vice President JD Vance noted that such a meeting was "not unusual at all".
Reason for the meeting
Bloomberg points out that the meeting is set to take place just before the final day of the fiscal year and a possible shutdown. Against this backdrop, budget funding for official travel of government employees, including the military, could be suspended. That is why Hegseth wants to bring all the generals together urgently.
An unnamed senior industry representative told the outlet that the meeting will focus on the US National Defense Strategy.
Hegseth’s emergency meeting
Yesterday, September 25, The Washington Post reported that Hegseth was urgently calling American generals, including those stationed abroad, to a meeting scheduled for next week.
According to the outlet, this has caused panic within the US military, as the reasons for this meeting were not reported.
Sources also expressed dissatisfaction with the move, noting that generals and admirals commanding troops around the world are not usually summoned to a meeting without being given any explanation.
