Former US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has dismissed claims that Europe was "free-riding" on US support for Ukraine, the Clash Report reports.
What Blinken said
According to him, for every US dollar, allies contributed 1,50. At the same time, most US spending remained within the United States.
As Antony Blinken reported, most of the funds the US spent on Ukraine were effectively used to purchase weapons or replenish US military stockpiles. In effect, this money remained in the American economy.
Blinken also stressed that the claim that allies were not bearing a fair share of the costs does not correspond to reality — Europe and partners contributed more than Washington.
Earlier, Antony Blinken stated that the frontline in Ukraine is unlikely to undergo significant changes and that Ukrainians themselves must make decisions on ending the war.
In addition, according to him, China warned Russia against the use of nuclear weapons against Ukraine.
