Blackouts in several towns in Sumy region due to Russian attack
Russian occupiers launched airstrikes last night on a critical infrastructure facility in the Romny district of the Sumy region. As a result of the enemy shelling, several towns were left without electricity, according to the Sumy Regional Military Administration (RMA).
"The enemy continues to attack Romny. Last night, on October 21, the Russians carried out an airstrike on critical infrastructure in the Romny district," the Regional Military Administration said.
Several towns were left without power due to the enemy shelling.
At the same time, emergency rescue services are working to eliminate the consequences. The RMA reported that the power supply is being restored.
"We thank our rescuers and energy workers for their courage and professionalism," the administration added.
Russian air attack on Sumy region
Additionally, it was reported that during the night, air defense forces managed to shoot down four Russian Shahed kamikaze drones over the Sumy region.
"Currently, air defense battles are still ongoing. Air defense units continue to repel the enemy's aerial attacks. Stay alert and cautious, and do not ignore safety rules," the RMA conveyed.
Russian strikes on Sumy region's energy sector
It was previously reported that on October 20, Russian terrorists struck an energy facility in the Sumy region, leaving over 100 settlements in the Romny district without power.
The day before, on October 19, the Russian army also attacked an energy facility in the region, leading to emergency power outages in the Sumy region.
On the night of October 19, Russian occupiers hit Shostka in the Sumy region with guided bombs and Shaheds, damaging energy and infrastructure facilities.
