Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces Robert "Madyar" Brovdi hinted that Russia could face blackouts. He said Ukrainian forces are preparing relevant strikes.
"(Russians -ed.), a blackout is nothing scary. Just a few inconveniences… The flight of the Free Bird is unpredictable and unscheduled… The Birds of the Unmanned Systems Forces, together with other components of Ukraine's deep-strike capability, promise you a swift, though somewhat forced, adaptation. But you'll manage,” Madyar wrote.
He hinted that Russians should prepare matches, candles, and flashlights, and perhaps make unplanned use of "their favorite battery-powered garlands."
Madyar also noted that Russian gasoline is becoming a scarce liquid, while gas and oil are "highly flammable."
Blackouts in Russia
On the evening of October 31, Russians reported power outages in several settlements across the Moscow region. At least one town, Zhukovsky near Moscow, was left without electricity. Local authorities claimed the cause was an emergency situation in the power grid.
Videos on social media also showed power disruptions in the Russian city of Tula.
Earlier this week, a large-scale outage occurred on Sakhalin. Several towns lost power after a bright flash was seen near one of the local thermal power plants. Russians also complained about water shortages after the incident.
