Chornobyl nuclear plant in blackout after strike on power facility in Ukrainian Slavutych

As a result of a Russian strike on an energy facility in Slavutych, the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant was left in blackout.

"Due to power surges, the new safe confinement, which is the key structure isolating the destroyed fourth reactor of the Chornobyl plant and preventing the release of radioactive materials into the environment, was left without electricity," the ministry noted.
