Chornobyl nuclear plant in blackout after strike on power facility in Ukrainian Slavutych

As a result of a Russian strike on an energy facility in Slavutych, the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant was left in blackout, according to the Ministry of Energy.
The ministry said that the enemy attack on energy infrastructure in Slavutych, Kyiv region, caused an emergency at the facilities of the State Specialized Enterprise Chornobyl NPP.
"Due to power surges, the new safe confinement, which is the key structure isolating the destroyed fourth reactor of the Chornobyl plant and preventing the release of radioactive materials into the environment, was left without electricity," the ministry noted.
It added that specialists are currently working to restore the power supply.
