Biden tells Scholz he plans to continue providing military aid to Ukraine
On Thursday, US President Joe Biden spoke with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on the phone. During the call, the American leader expressed his intent to continue supporting Ukraine, according to the White House website.
In addition to military aid for Ukraine, Biden also emphasized the US-German relationship.
"The President underscored the enduring strength of the US-German relationship and noted his intention to continue our strong collaboration on geopolitical priorities, including supporting Ukraine’s defense against Russian aggression," the statement said.
The Bundeswehr also confirmed the conversation between the two leaders.
The Bundeswehr's statement indicated that on the evening of October 10, 2024, Chancellor Scholz had spoken by phone with US President Joe Biden.
This week, a new meeting in the Ramstein format was scheduled for Saturday, October 12. However, the meeting has been postponed indefinitely, as President Joe Biden delayed his trip to Germany due to Hurricane Milton.
Additionally, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is set to meet with Chancellor Olaf Scholz to present Ukraine's victory plan.
Yesterday, the Ukrainian president presented this plan to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
During a press conference with the Italian prime minister, Zelenskyy explained the essence of Ukraine's victory plan.
