The next meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group will take place in Germany in October at the level of leaders from 50 participating countries, according to the White House website.

"I will convene a leader-level meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in Germany next month to coordinate the efforts of the more than 50 countries supporting Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression," the statement reads.

Earlier, it was reported that US President Joe Biden will visit Germany in October. During his visit, Berlin plans to invite the leaders of France and the United Kingdom to discuss support for Ukraine.

Ukraine Defense Contact Group

The Ukraine Defense Contact Group is a series of international meetings of defense ministers from various countries that have united to coordinate and accelerate military assistance to Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. This format is named after the US Ramstein Air Base in Germany, where the first meeting took place in April 2022.

Typically, defense ministers participate in these meetings. In September, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy personally attended the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting for the first time.

The exact number of countries participating may vary over time. Usually, it includes several dozen countries, comprising both NATO members and neutral countries. It is important to note that not all participating countries provide military aid to Ukraine. Some countries offer humanitarian aid or political support.

These meetings are significant because they demonstrate international solidarity with Ukraine and assist it in resisting Russian aggression. Through this format, Ukraine receives the necessary military assistance to defend its territorial integrity and independence.
