In October, US President Joe Biden will visit Germany. During his visit, Berlin plans to invite the leaders of France and Britain to discuss support for Ukraine, Spiegel informs.
According to the news agency, Biden will visit Germany from October 10 to 12. The German government also plans to invite French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer while Biden is in the country.
The meeting in the so-called "quadrilateral" format will likely focus primarily on support for Ukraine.
According to Spiegel, Biden also plans to visit the US military base in Ramstein. This will be Biden's second visit to Germany during his presidency, but the first official state visit.
His first bilateral visit to Germany as US president was in 2022 at the G7 summit in Elmau, Bavaria.
During his speech at the UN General Assembly on September 24, President Biden stated that Western countries cannot "grow weary" of supporting Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression. He emphasized the need to achieve a just peace.
