Belgorod power plant struck, local neighborhoods face electricity outages

In the city of Belgorod, the local Luch combined heat and power plant has been hit. Residents of several districts report power outages, according to Russian media.
The Belgorod Luch combined heat and power plant was struck by weapons of unknown origin.
Earlier, air raid sirens sounded in the city, and local social media reported the operation of air defense systems.
Subsequently, numerous videos of the explosion near the power plant began appearing on Telegram channels.
At the same time, residents of several districts reported power outages.
The strike on the power plant was confirmed by the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov. According to him, the hit caused damage to engineering infrastructure.
Attacks on Belgorod
As reported by RBC-Ukraine, on December 10, the Belgorod Luch combined heat and power plant was struck. The city sounded missile alerts several times, and some buildings experienced power outages.
Earlier, on the night of November 8–9, the Luch combined heat and power plant in Belgorod was hit. According to local sources, falling debris and equipment damage caused a major blackout - more than 20,000 residents were left without electricity and heating.
The attack severely damaged the gas turbine units of the power plant, which supplied electricity to the city. Until then, the station had remained one of the last functioning power plants in Belgorod following previous damage to another plant.
On October 11, Belgorod was also hit by a missile strike. The bombardment damaged the Luch combined heat and power plant, leaving most city districts without electricity. On October 13, the city was attacked again. Preliminary reports indicate that turbines at the Belgorod power plant were destroyed, causing the plant to go completely offline.
