Belgium considers military deployment to Ukraine after peace deal

Belgium does not rule out the possibility of sending Belgian troops to Ukraine. The country is considering deploying its contingent to support Ukrainian forces, reports Belgian Defense Minister Theo Francken at an informal meeting of EU defense ministers in Copenhagen.
In particular, the Belgian Defense Minister did not rule out that Belgian troops could be sent to Ukraine and said that they will think about it.
Belgium supports Ukraine
Earlier, Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot, during a press conference after a meeting with ministers from the Benelux countries in Odesa, stated that Belgium is ready to send its troops to Ukraine as part of a peacekeeping mission after the war with Russia ends.
According to Prévot, once a ceasefire in Ukraine is decided, Belgium is ready to participate in international forces with the appropriate international mandate.
Meanwhile, recently, the Coalition of the Willing announced its readiness to deploy deterrent forces in Ukraine.
After a meeting at the White House, about 10 countries agreed to send troops to Ukraine, as well as deploy their military planners to the US for consultations.
Germany is also not ruling out the possibility of deploying its military contingent to Ukraine, while the United Kingdom has explicitly stated its readiness to send troops in the first week following the implementation of a potential peace agreement or ceasefire with Russia.
Estonia, like the UK,is also ready to send a military peacekeeping contingent to Ukraine consisting of one company.
Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that his country will not send troops to Ukraine.
According to Kosiniak-Kamysz, among the country’s key tasks are protecting NATO’s eastern flank and guarding the Polish-Belarusian border.
