Belgium announces €100 mln aid package and F-16 deliveries

Belgium has prepared for Ukraine a new military aid package worth 100 million euros and promised to transfer new F-16 fighter jets as soon as possible, Belgian Defense Minister Theo Francken stated.
"Belgium is preparing in the near future to provide Ukraine with military aid worth 100 million euros," Francken noted.
According to him, the Belgian government also plans to accelerate as much as possible the delivery of F-16 fighter jets to the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
F-16 in Ukraine
Previously, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Belgium headed the aviation coalition for the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. In July 2024, the Netherlands officially approved the export of 24 aircraft, and already in August, the first F-16s arrived at the Ukrainian Air Force. The details regarding the number and sources of supplies remain classified.
At the end of August, Ukraine lost one of the fighter jets it received during the repelling of a massive Russian attack. As a result of the crash on August 26, an experienced pilot, Oleksii Mes, with the callsign Moonfish, died.
It was also reported that on July 22 this year, the Air Force received the first unique mobile complexes for the servicing of F-16 fighter jets. And already the next day, the Air Force showed what these complexes look like.
In addition, it became known earlier about a unique tactic that helps the Armed Forces of Ukraine not to lose a single fighter jet during massive Russian strikes on Ukrainian airfields.
