Belarus increases military presence near Ukrainian border
On Tuesday, January 7, the Telegram channel Belarusian Hajun reported that Belarus is increasing its military presence near the border with Ukraine, with additional troops deployed to the area.
The statement says that units of the Belarusian Ground Forces have been deployed to the Stolin, Lelchytsy, Mazyr, and Homel districts.
It is also known that at the end of December, a Russian military transport aircraft, an Il-76 of the Russian Aerospace Forces, flew to Belarus.
Situation in Belarus
Earlier, it was reported that Alexander Lukashenko accused Ukraine of violating Belarusian airspace, claiming that Ukrainian drones allegedly entered Belarus and were destroyed by air defenses.
Subsequently, he ordered troops and equipment, including the Polonez MLRS and Iskander missile systems, to be sent to the border regions of the Homel and Mazyr areas.
