English striker Harry Kane scored his milestone goal for Bayern Munich, setting a unique club record for the fastest goal-scoring start to a season, reports OptaJoe.
Kane nets his 20th goal of the season
Kane's historic strike came in the third match of the main round of the Champions League, when Bayern hosted Club Brugge. The Bavarians secured a convincing 4-0 victory.
The English forward doubled his team's lead in the 14th minute, finishing a cross from Konrad Laimer from the flank.
This goal marked Kane's 20th in all competitions for Bayern in the 2025/2026 season.
Remarkably, he achieved this in just 12 matches, which is the fewest games needed by any player in football history to reach 20 goals at club level.
Goal-scoring that surpasses legends
Kane’s performance at the start of the season has outshone even the peak-season stats of stars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
- Messi needed 17 matches to score 20 goals in a club season.
- Ronaldo achieved his best start in the 2014/2015 season, reaching 20 goals in 13 matches.
So far, Kane has 20 goals for Bayern, including 5 in three Champions League games.
Bayern ready for the next challenge
After three Champions League matches, Bayern sits second in their group with 9 points.
The Munich team’s next match will take place on Tuesday, November 4, against PSG, where Harry Kane will have the chance to boost his goal-scoring record.
The forward joined Bayern from Tottenham in August 2023 for a record €100 million. In his first season in Germany, Kane became the Bundesliga's top scorer with 44 goals.
