Russian occupiers have focused their efforts on storming Avdiivka and Novomykhailivka in the Mariupol direction. Invaders are launching attacks with minimal use of equipment, reports Colonel Oleksandr Shtupun, the spokesperson for the Unified Press Center of the Defense Forces of the Tavria direction, during a televised marathon.

He noted that the occupiers did not carry out any airstrikes yesterday but launched three missile strikes with the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system in the Donetsk region and continue to actively use artillery. Prior to this, the Russians had been actively using aviation for a week.

According to the spokesperson, there are several reasons why the occupiers reduced the activity of their aviation. Among them are possible aircraft maintenance, issues with the delivery of ammunition, or adverse weather conditions.

Shtupun added that the Russians are focusing their assault actions on Avdiivka and Novomykhailivka.

"This is in the Mariupol direction, Novomykhailivka. And mostly these are infantry attacks with minimal involvement of armored vehicles," the spokesperson said.

Over the past day, the Russian army conducted 592 artillery shelling on the Tavria direction.

Battles for Avdiivka

Since the beginning of October, Russian soldiers have been actively storming the area around Avdiivka. They are attempting to encircle the city and occupy it.

Ukrainian defenders, in turn, are holding their ground and inflicting significant losses on the enemy. According to the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, the losses of Russian occupiers in attempts to capture Avdiivka have significantly increased recently. However, the intelligence officer did not provide specific figures.
