Russian forces managed to break through and gain a foothold in Ocheretyne near Avdiivka. Ukrainian Armed Forces have deployed reserves to stabilize the situation, which is under control, says a spokesperson for Khortytsia military unit Nazar Voloshyn.
"The enemy has managed to break through and gain a foothold in this settlement. One part, which is under enemy control, is under our fire control. Measures are taken to drive them out of there. Heavy fighting is ongoing, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces are controlling the situation," he said.
As before, the spokesperson reminded that the enemy threw up to four brigades into storming Ocheretyne. In turn, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are taking measures to stabilize the situation in this direction, including regaining control of Ocheretyne.
"With this purpose, additional forces and reserve resources were deployed," Voloshyn said.

Fighting in the Avdiivka area
The Avdiivka direction has been one of the hottest since October 2023 when the Russian troops intensified their assaults to capture Avdiivka. The defense of the city, located about 15 km out of Donetsk, lasted until mid-February 2024.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces withdrew from Avdiivka, but the defensive operation continued. Currently, the Russian army has managed to advance and capture a number of settlements near Avdiivka. In particular, active fighting is ongoing in the village of Ocheretyne.
According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi, Ukrainian troops withdrew from three settlements in the Donetsk region.
