Avdiivka sector: Russian occupants launch third wave of offensive
The occupiers have started the third wave of the offensive on the Avdiivka direction in Donetsk. Despite active attacks, the enemy continues to suffer significant losses, according to the commander of the Tavria Operational Strategic Group, Oleksandr Tarnavskyi.
"The occupiers have started the third wave of active actions within the offensive on the Avdiivka direction," he wrote.
In particular, in the material of RBC-Ukraine, it was noted that the occupiers near Avdiivka might focus on a new tactic due to the huge losses of the enemy in this direction.
Yesterday, a video was published on social media showing an enemy kamikaze tank allegedly penetrating the industrial zone of the city. The General Staff clarified that it was an MTLB tractor that ran over a mine and exploded.
Also, it became known yesterday that Russian forces in the Avdiivka area pushed forward several mechanized columns with armored vehicles. However, the offensive failed, destroying almost 80% of enemy vehicles.
The losses of the Russian Federation can already be considered the most significant throughout the entire period of the full-scale war against Ukraine, as noted by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The situation in the Avdiivka area
At the beginning of October, the occupiers intensified their offensive in the Avdiivka area, marking the most extensive since 2014. Their main goal is to encircle and capture the "gateway to Donetsk."
According to the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeri Zaluzhnyi, during the month when the occupiers intensified near Avdiivka, Russia lost about 10,000 soldiers in this direction.
