Avdiivka and Maryinka under Russian attack, Ukrainian Army hold ground
The Ukrainian military deters enemy attacks in the Avdiyivka and Maryinka areas. The defenders also continue their assaults south of Bakhmut, reports the spokesperson for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrii Kovalov.
As the spokesperson notes, the Ukrainian military continues its assault operations south of Bakhmut and consolidates at the achieved boundaries. In turn, the occupiers conducted assaults in the areas of Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka. 12 attacks were repelled.
Also, the offensive operation continues in the Melitopol direction, the defenders are exhausting the enemy.
The Russian army is making every effort to surround Avdiivka, using aviation. In this direction, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces repulsed 17 enemy attacks.
Ukrainian soldiers repelled 20 attacks in the Maryinka direction and 8 attacks in the Kupiansk direction.
The situation at the front
A month ago, Russian invaders intensified their offensive in the Avdiivka area. Although the occupiers have weakened their attacks in recent days, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are expecting a new wave of assaults shortly.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi says that during the month when the occupiers became active near Avdiivka, Russia lost about 10,000 soldiers in this direction.
In addition, the commander of the Eastern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskii, said that the occupiers had become more active in the Bakhmut direction. The invaders are trying to regain lost positions. The Ukrainian soldiers repel enemy attacks.
