Energy facility hit near Odesa and air defense operations near Kyiv: Consequences of Russian attack
Starting from the evening of November 17 and continuing into the early morning of November 18, Russian forces, without ceasing, launched waves of kamikaze drones into the territory of Ukraine, sounding alarms multiple times. While most of the targets were successfully shot down, it did not go without consequences, and there are reported injuries.

Attacks on energy infrastructure in the Odesa region
Despite successfully intercepting the majority of Russian kamikaze drones, an enemy UAV struck an energy facility in the Odesa region, leading to a fire. One civilian was injured in the attack.
"In the Odesa region, a direct hit on an energy infrastructure object occurred overnight. One civilian employee was injured and hospitalized," Dumska states.
According to journalists, the administrative building was damaged. A fire broke out but was quickly extinguished.
Currently, rescuers have managed to extinguish the fire at the energy facility in the Odesa region after the attack.

Effective work of air defense near Kyiv
Presumably, enemy kamikaze drones attempted to break through into the airspace of the capital. Air defense systems were active in the Kyiv region last night, and the air raid siren sounded twice. Despite the enemy's attempts to attack the capital, all targets were shot down before reaching the region.
"Tonight, the Russian enemy attacked our region with UAVs. The air raid siren sounded twice. Air defense systems were active in the region. Thanks to our defenders! All enemy objects were shot down," according to the report of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.
According to the administration, there were no casualties, and infrastructure and residential buildings were undamaged.
Other regions
Enemy targets were also shot down in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions. In particular, in the Zaporizhzhia region, air defense forces managed to land 4 Russian drones out of 8 launched over Zaporizhzhia. A fire broke out.
"On the evening of November 17, during the period from 20:10 to 21:42, the enemy released 8 drones over the regional center - 4 were successfully destroyed. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out at infrastructure facilities. No information about casualties has been received," said Yurii Malashko, the head of the regional military administration.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, according to the head of the administration, Serhii Lysak, air defense systems destroyed enemy UAVs over the Pavlohrad district yesterday evening.
"One is done. Presumably, the enemy Shahed drone," he noted.
The enemy also attacked with drones in the Chernihiv region. According to Viacheslav Chaus, the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, the enemy launched an aerial strike on the region tonight. Although the air defense systems repelled the drone attacks, infrastructure buildings were damaged.
"As a result of ground explosions, infrastructure buildings were damaged, and no information about casualties was recorded. Data on the consequences of this terrorist attack are being clarified," he said.
Alarm was declared several times, the attack lasted for 8 hours
During the night in Ukraine, air raid alarms were declared several times. For example, during the first one in Khmelnytskyi, air defense systems were active. Later, an air raid alarm was declared in Kyiv and the northern regions of Ukraine. In particular, the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned of the threat of ballistic missile use in the northern part of the country.
According to the Air Force, Russia launched 38 kamikaze drones over the territory of Ukraine, 29 of which were successfully shot down. The enemy launched drones in waves, in groups in different regions from the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. The attack lasted from 20:00 on November 17 to 4:00 on November 18 and lasted for 8 hours.
