After destroying at least three aircraft during the attack on Belbek airfield on January 31, the occupiers are attempting to find launch boundaries that are maximally secure for them. Despite Russia maintaining an advantage in the air, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are striving to "level the playing field" as much as possible, according to the spokesperson for the Southern Ukrainian Defense Forces, Natalia Humeniuk, during a telethon.

"Clearly, they are trying to find launch boundaries that are maximally secure for them. They are avoiding areas where they had a bitter lesson, but nonetheless, we continue our efforts to reduce the enemy's aviation. The evidence of this is the successful operations at Belbek airfield, where we once again had a net loss of three aircraft," she stated.

At the same time, Humeniuk noted that despite the loss of aircraft, Russia maintains an advantage in the air. Nevertheless, Ukrainian defense forces are working to "level the playing field" as much as possible.

"In particular, the same lesson I mentioned earlier, that they fear the application of aviation at those boundaries, directions, and distances they allowed themselves before would be critical for them. Additionally, they complain significantly about our powerful efforts in destroying their drones. They are increasing the use of FPV drones, but it doesn't yield results because we find ways to counteract," she concluded.
