US President Donald Trump said he knows the details of the war in Ukraine and the reasons it began.
Trump was asked whether he had forgotten that Russian President Vladimir Putin was the one who started the war against Ukraine.
"Well, you know, I know the details, okay? And at some point, I'll release the details. But I don't care anything except for one. I want that war ended," the president replied.
According to the US president, an average of around 25,000 soldiers are killed each month in Russia's war against Ukraine. Last month, he said, "32,000 soldiers" were killed.
"I think the two leaders, I deal with both of them, I think they want that war ended too. And I think it's going to end," Trump added.
Trump's controversial statements
Recently, US President Donald Trump said that Russian President Vladimir Putin was easier to deal with than Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Trump also accused the Ukrainian leader of being unwilling to make a deal.
In response, President Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine has every right to defend itself because it was attacked. He also said he personally finds Trump easier to deal with than Putin.
