The members of the Artillery Capabilities Coalition in Support of Ukraine discussed the approval of a roadmap. It provides for the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces until 2027, according to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The online meeting of the coalition, co-led by France and the United States, was attended by representatives of 14 states, as well as the EU and NATO.

At the meeting, representatives of the participating states discussed potential contributions by each of them to meet these needs, as well as opportunities for investment in the Ukrainian defense industry.

Artillery coalition

The Artillery coalition was launched in January 2024 in Paris. Its members are countries that possess advanced technologies for the production of the best artillery systems, ammunition, artillery intelligence, unmanned targeting systems, and fire control systems.

The goal of the coalition is to ensure that by the end of 2027, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have sustainable integrated artillery capabilities and interoperability with NATO.

“This is necessary to strengthen the ability of the Ukrainian army to resist Russian attacks and deter potential new invasions, as well as to level Russia's firepower, combat capabilities and establish interoperability with NATO,” the Ministry of Ukraine says.

The Artillery coalition was created within the framework of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine.

The following coalitions are also currently operating:

  • Air Force Coalition
  • Coalition of Integrated Air and Missile Defense
  • Armor and Maneuverability Coalition
  • Coalition of maritime capabilities
  • Coalition of drones
  • Coalition of demining
  • IT coalition.

In December 2023, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced the launch of an artillery coalition to strengthen the Ukrainian army.
