Apple develops new gadget models that will differ from previous ones
Apple plans to make the MacBook Pro, Apple Watch, and iPhone slimmer. The design of the new iPad Pro M4 marks the first indication of the company's new direction, according to the news website MacRumors.
About upcoming iPad release
During the presentation of the iPad Pro M4 last month, Apple touted it as the company's thinnest device ever, even comparing it to the 2012 iPod nano to highlight its sleek dimensions.
In the latest edition of his Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman writes that, following the example of the iPad Pro, Apple now aims to release the thinnest devices across all its product lines without sacrificing battery life or key new features.
Gurman believes the new iPad Pro represents "the beginning of a new class of Apple devices," with the company's goal being to offer "the thinnest and lightest products in their categories across the whole tech industry."
According to available data, in the coming years, Apple intends to release thinner versions of the iPhone, Apple Watch, and MacBook Pro.
Gurman's sources report that Apple is currently focused on developing a significantly thinner iPhone for the iPhone 17 lineup in 2025. It is said to feature a "major redesign" similar to the iPhone X.
About other gadgets
Previously, Gurman reported that Apple plans a complete overhaul of the Apple Watch for the device's tenth anniversary, dubbed Apple Watch X.
Since the original Apple Watch was introduced in 2014 and released in 2015, Gurman is uncertain whether the Apple Watch X will debut in 2024 or 2025. However, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has stated that this year's upcoming Apple Watch models will feature a larger screen and a slimmer design, aligning with Gurman's reports.
In 2021, Apple significantly redesigned the MacBook Pro, making it thicker and heavier. The main highlight was the return of several ports that had been removed in previous versions in favor of a slimmer body. The current MacBook Pro models now include an HDMI port, SD card slot, MagSafe 3 charging port, three Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) ports, and a headphone jack.
