Following Belarus, another Russian ally has begun combat readiness exercises, according to Kazakhstan's Ministry of Defense.
According to the defense ministry, from June 29 to July 2, Kazakhstan is holding comprehensive tactical and drill training in military units and institutions of the country's Armed Forces to bring troops to the highest levels of combat readiness.
"The measures are aimed at improving the practical skills of personnel and units when bringing them to higher levels of combat readiness," the statement said.
The Defense Ministry claims that the measures are planned training activities and will take place mainly on the territory of military units and training grounds.
At the same time, some units will carry out planned marches to training grounds and training centers. Due to the movement of military equipment, temporary traffic restrictions may be introduced on certain road sections in the regions.
Exercises in Belarus
Mobilization exercises were also recently held in Belarus. In the territory of the Grodno region, which borders Ukraine, military enlistment offices began measures to check the readiness of reservists.
In particular, since June 20, the military enlistment office of the Oshmyany district has summoned reservists to clarify their registration data. The verification is being carried out at a preliminary assembly point.
In May 2026, Belarus and Russia held joint exercises on the combat use of nuclear weapons.
