Alec Baldwin considers stepping away from acting: 'I want to stay home with my kids'

The tragedy on the set of the film Rust in 2021 forever changed the life of American actor Alec Baldwin. After that, he stayed at home for a long time and did not work, and now he has stated his desire to leave his career in Hollywood, according to the podcast by The Hollywood Reporter.
What Alec Baldwin said about ending his career
According to the star, it was "unspeakably difficult" for him to cope with what happened on set. He was the one who fired the prop gun, which resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, while director Joel Souza was injured.
"Because of the situation in New Mexico, which was very painful, I wound up staying home a lot," he shared.
The actor spent three and a half years with his children. He barely worked during that time. Only now has the situation begun to change.
"I’m going to go off and do a bunch of things," he said.

However, living in a certain isolation greatly affected the actor’s outlook on life. Now, Alec Baldwin is considering ending his career.
"But I was home and I got used to it, and I don’t want to leave my house anymore. I don’t. I don’t want to work anymore. I don’t. I really don’t. I want to retire and stay home with my kids," he admitted.
Years of legal battles negatively affected his mental health. Only his family became a source of support for him.
What is known about the death of Halyna Hutchins
During the filming of a scene, a shot was fired from a prop gun handled by Baldwin. He had been assured that the gun was loaded with blanks, but the reality turned out to be different.
Baldwin was later charged with involuntary manslaughter and faced up to 18 months in prison.
In 2024, the charges were dropped. The actor could not hold back tears when he heard the judge’s verdict.
Alec Baldwin has a daughter, Ireland Baldwin, from his former wife, Kim Basinger. In 2012, he married Hilaria Baldwin, with whom he has seven children.
