Air Force on strikes in Ukraine: Russia to likely favor drones over missiles
The Russian occupiers are likely to start using drones much more actively for strikes against Ukraine than missiles, states the spokesperson of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yurii Ihnat.
Ihnat was asked to comment on whether large missile barrages, like those seen last year when occupiers launched about a hundred aerial targets overnight, could be repeated and what to expect overall.
"Expect (Ed.) a greater intensity of drone shelling. In my opinion, Russia will now use drones many times more than missiles," replied Ihnat.
He specifies that he means Shahed drones, as well as FPV drones and Lancets along the front line.
The spokesperson of the Air Forces reminds that, according to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, Russians are accumulating missiles, so missile strikes might happen, but it's unknown in what quantity they will be launched.
Drone attacks
Recently, the Russians have frequently used their Shahed kamikaze drones for attacks on Ukraine.
For example, on the night from Friday, November 24th, to Saturday, November 25th, occupiers launched 75 such drones on Ukrainian territory. The air defense forces managed to shoot down 74 of them.
More than half of all drones were intercepted in the north of Ukraine. The precise work was demonstrated by mobile groups.
