Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia during the night of July 1, causing damage and sparking a fire in the city, states Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.

Fedorov specified that the enemy launched four strikes on the city and the Zaporizhzhia district, but did not specify the weapons used.

“An enterprise was damaged, causing a fire. Private homes were also damaged. Fortunately, there were no casualties,” the statement said.

Ahead of the initial reports of damage, the Ukrainian Air Forces had warned of a drone attack threat targeting both the city of Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding region. There was also a threat of ballistic missile use that night; however, no missile launches were confirmed.

Zaporizhzhia region and its administrative center have been regularly targeted by Russian strikes.

For example, on the night of June 27, the city suffered six drone attacks, which caused multiple fires and damage to non-residential buildings.

Additionally, on the night of June 29, Russia launched a combined assault across Ukraine. Zaporizhzhia was hit by a missile strike that damaged a facility at a local enterprise.
