Over the past week, Russia has carried out more than a thousand strikes on Ukraine using various types of weapons — from drones to aerial bombs and missiles, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Zelenskyy reminded that right now, efforts are underway in Kyiv to eliminate the consequences of a Russian attack.

“All the necessary emergency services are working at the sites. Last night, Russia launched more than 100 drones against us. Ordinary apartment buildings in several districts of the city have been damaged. Unfortunately, as of now, three people are known to have been killed in the attack. My deepest condolences to their families. Dozens have been injured, including children,” he noted.

The president emphasized that every Russian strike is an attempt to inflict as much harm as possible on ordinary life.

“This week, they’ve been striking residential buildings, our people, children, and civilian infrastructure. These are the main targets for the Russians. Thousands of strikes with various types of weapons: in just one week, Russia has used nearly 1,200 attack drones, more than 1,360 guided aerial bombs, and over 50 missiles of different types against Ukraine,” the head of state added.

He explained that despite all these strikes, Ukraine continued to actively defend itself — on the battlefield, in the air, and in diplomacy.

“There are significant results regarding the pressure on Russia: the 19th EU sanctions package and new U.S. sanctions targeting Russian oil. We are grateful to our partners for these steps, but it is important not to stop here,” the president noted.

Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is counting on the synchronization of these sanctions in the jurisdictions of the G7 and other partners.

“And, of course, additional tariff and sanctions restrictions are needed against Russia and all those helping it stay afloat. Certainly, pressure will help bring about peace. I thank everyone who contributes to this,” he explained.

Russian strikes on Kyiv

On the night of October 26, the Russians carried out drone strikes on the capital.

Starting from 2:30 a.m., explosions and the work of air defense were repeatedly heard in the city. The military reported that a group of drones was already directly over Kyiv.

The all-clear was announced about an hour after the air raid alert began. However, during this time, enemy drones managed to cause significant damage.

The Desnianskyi and Obolonskyi districts of the capital came under attack that night.

As of 4:22 a.m., there were already 26 injured in the capital, including six children.

More details about the consequences of the enemy strike can be found in the RBC-Ukraine report.

As a result of the enemy attack on October 25, three districts of Kyiv were affected — Dniprovskyi, Desnianskyi, and Darnytskyi.

Windows in residential buildings and a kindergarten were damaged. There were also reports of a destroyed store, among other damage.

One person was killed and nine were injured. Three of them were hospitalized. More details can be found in the RBC-Ukraine report.
