6 more Ukrainian children were evacuated from the occupied part of the Kherson region. They are safe, says Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

According to Prokudin, three families with five girls and one boy, aged 1 to 9, were evacuated from the Russian occupation.

The parents said that living under Russian occupation was difficult, especially in the absence of a Russian passport. They could not get a job or go to the hospital.

In addition, the Russian military constantly searched their homes, intimidating the children. This was the impetus for the evacuation to the territories controlled by Ukraine.

"Now all families are safe and receive the necessary medical and psychological assistance," says the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

Since the beginning of 2024, 94 children have already been evacuated from the occupied part of the Kherson region.

Return of Ukrainian children

According to the Human Rights Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, Russia has illegally deported more than 19,000 Ukrainian children. Returns are difficult, often involving intermediaries.

The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin in the case of the deportation of Ukrainian children.

Yesterday, on May 23, it became known that Ukraine returned 13 children and their families from the occupied territories.
