5G testing in Ukraine
Currently, the innovation center Promprylad in Ivano-Frankivsk, Vodafone's office in Kyiv, and Nokia's office in Helsinki have connected via 5G to test the quality of the connection.
"Everything works," wrote Mykhailo Fedorov.
5G is now operational in over 90 countries worldwide. Specifically, the European Union plans to cover all cities and major routes with 5G by 2025.
Background information
In September 2023, Mykhailo Fedorov announced the pilot launch of 5G in Ukraine in 2024. The 5G technology offers numerous advantages, providing new opportunities for both civilian and military applications.
The data transmission capacity of 5G allows real-time traffic management, detailed weather condition analysis, and the coordination of thousands of vehicles. This is just a fraction of its potential applications.
However, such expanded internet functionality increases various economic sectors' dependency on its continuous operation, particularly concerning critical infrastructure enterprises.
