On April 9, 2025, King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary. In this regard, they decided to show on Instagram rare archival photos.
“20 Happy Years,” they captioned a video edited from the photos.
The video features photos from their wedding, as well as other important events and trips.
Charles and Camilla are currently in Italy on a four-day state visit. Yesterday, the couple unveiled their new portraits on the occasion of their 20th wedding anniversary.

The love story of Charles III and Camilla
The close relationship between Charles and Camilla Shand began in the early 1970s. They shared common interests, loved horseback riding, humor and culture. However, Camilla did not suit Queen Elizabeth as the wife of the heir to the throne.
In 1973 Camilla became the wife of Andrew Parker-Bowles, and in 1981 Charles married Diana Spencer. The couple continued to communicate: they often met and called each other. It was one of the reasons for the divorce of Charles and Diana, which took place in 1996.
They began to appear in public more and more often, and in the late 1990s and early 2000s, their relationship became more open and recognized.

Charles and Camilla faced a lot of public criticism, as many could not forget her role in the prince's divorce from Diana, and some blamed her for the princess's death. For a long time, Elizabeth herself did not accept Camilla. She called her an “immoral woman” who “harmed the monarchy.”
Over time, Camilla was able to win public recognition, and her role in the royal family was recognized.
On April 9, 2005, their wedding took place. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip did not attend the wedding ceremony, but came to the church service to support their son.
In 2023, after the death of Elizabeth II, Charles and Camilla became King and Queen Consort.
