12 battles still ongoing. General Staff reports on hottest front line directions

The Defense Forces continue to counter enemy attempts to advance deeper into Ukrainian territory, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Since the start of the day, the number of combat engagements has risen to 106. The hottest area currently is the Pokrovsk direction.
The Russian forces continue to use aviation and artillery on the border areas of Sumy region. Specifically, artillery strikes have targeted the areas around Bachevsk, Porozok, Boyaro-Lezhachi, and Progress. Glukhiv has been subjected to an airstrike.
Situation on front
In the Kharkiv direction, the Russian army has stormed our positions near Vovchansk three times, and fighting is ongoing. Kozacha Lopan and Lyptsi are under enemy KAB (guided aerial bombs) strikes.
The enemy has attacked our positions in the Kupiansk direction four times, targeting Lozova, Petropavlivka, and Synkivka. Two attacks have been repelled by the Defense Forces, while two engagements are still ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy has attacked in the areas of Makiivka, Nevske, and Terny. Since the beginning of the day, there have been nine engagements in this direction, with fighting still ongoing near Nevske. The situation is under control.
The enemy continues to attempt to break through our defenses in the Siversk direction, but they are facing fierce resistance from Ukrainian units. Near Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, and Viyimka, the Russian troops have attempted to push our units 17 times, with four of these engagements still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the invaders have carried out four assaults near Chasiv Yar and Andriivka. Two engagements are continuing.
In the Toretsk direction, the number of enemy attacks has increased to fourteen. The enemy, with aviation support, is attacking near the settlements of New York, where our defenders have repelled three attacks; Zalizne, Pivnichne, and Toretsk, where nine assaults have been repelled, and two engagements are still ongoing.
The enemy is intensively attacking Ukrainian defenders in the Pokrovsk direction. Throughout the day, the aggressor has carried out 37 attacks in the areas of Vozdvyzhenska, Hrodivka, Zhelanne, Zelene Pole, Vodyane, Skuchne, Karlivka, and Ptyche. The Defense Forces are holding the line and have repelled 25 enemy attacks, with twelve battles still ongoing. Vozdvyzhenska and Hrodivka were hit by KABs, and uncontrolled aviation rockets were fired at Oleksandropil.
In the Kurakhove direction, the invader has attacked our units five times since the start of the day. They attempted to advance near Kostiantynivka and Krasnohorivka, with fighting still ongoing near Heorhiivka.
In the Vremivka direction, our troops are repelling two attacks towards Vodyane, while four other attempts to advance towards Vuhledar and Vodyane have been unsuccessful for the enemy.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attempted to advance three times near Mala Tokmachka and Novodanylivka but faced strong resistance. The enemy also used aviation against Lobkove.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, four enemy attacks have been unsuccessful.
Russian losses
As of the morning of Wednesday, August 14, the Russian army has lost 1,240 soldiers, 57 artillery systems, and 5 rocket launchers on the front.
