As a result of a Russian attack on Sumy, parts of the city were left without electricity, urban electric transport was suspended, and residents faced disruptions in water supply, according to Suspilne.

Following the Russian strike, only buses are operating in the city, municipal operator Electroavtotrans said, adding that updates on the full restoration of public transport will be provided later.

All facilities of the municipal water company were cut off from power and switched to emergency backup generators. On August 27, water will be supplied on a limited schedule with reduced pressure from 05:00 to 10:00 and from 18:00 to 22:00, Miskvodokanal announced.

"Due to the power outage at pumping stations, water supply to the upper floors of high-rise buildings will be unavailable. Normal supply will resume once power is restored," the statement said.

Massive drone attack on Sumy

The massive drone attack on Sumy began around 01:00 AM Kyiv time on August 27, when Russian forces launched Shahed strike drones at the city. Power outages were reported immediately. Later, it was confirmed that local infrastructure facilities had been damaged, though no casualties were reported.

The previous night, on August 26, drone strikes on Sumy damaged warehouse facilities and set non-residential buildings on fire.
