No decisions unacceptable to Ukraine were made during today’s meetings at the White House, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, adding that substantive discussions took place between partners, according to Zelenskyy’s briefing.

When asked whether any unacceptable outcomes for Ukraine were proposed during the White House talks regarding the format of ending the war, Zelenskyy replied:

"This was a discussion, a dialogue with our partners. Each of us has our arguments. There were no unacceptable outcomes. I believe everyone did their part."

He also commented on the fact that a map of the current front line was displayed at the White House, saying that he argued "for every percent of occupied territory."

"On the map I showed our American allies the situation on the battlefield, who controls the ground, our land, the temporarily occupied territories," the President said.

What leaders discussed at White House

Earlier, Donald Trump had stated after the talks that European countries, in coordination with the United States, would provide security guarantees to Ukraine. These guarantees were discussed along the lines of NATO’s Article 5 principle, though without formal membership in the Alliance.

The Financial Times reported further details, noting that Ukraine, with European financial backing, committed to purchase $100 billion in weapons and equipment and to sign a $50 billion deal on drone production. Zelenskyy confirmed this information at his briefing.

One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the start of preparations for a bilateral meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin, which would be followed by a trilateral summit with Trump.

According to Zelenskyy, it was Putin who proposed such a format. "I agreed because I am ready, and I will not put forward any preconditions. I am prepared to discuss territorial issues with the Kremlin leader," he added.
