Denmark has warned against any peace agreements without Ukraine’s participation, calling them a "deal with the devil."

This was stated by Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, according to DR.

According to the outlet, Rasmussen warned the United States and Russia against any attempt to conclude a peace agreement without Ukraine and its European partners.

The statement comes ahead of the planned August 15 meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska.

"Our message to the US: be careful, don’t start from the wrong angle," Rasmussen stressed.

The Danish foreign minister said any rushed attempt to make a deal with the Kremlin could have dangerous consequences. He cautioned against "the temptation to quickly make a deal with Putin," calling such a scenario "a deal with the devil itself."

In his view, the only proper starting point for any negotiations must be a complete ceasefire.

"Only with a full ceasefire can we begin discussing a long-term solution," the Danish diplomat emphasized.

Trump-Putin meeting

On Friday, August 15, US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin are set to meet in Alaska.

On Monday, August 11, Trump said he plans to demand that Putin end the war.

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski also stated that the issue of ending Russia’s war cannot be resolved without the participation of Ukraine and Europe.
