Strikes on the logistics and resources of allies are already affecting Moscow’s ability to continue combat operations, while Washington simultaneously offers a path to negotiations.
Pressure through Russia's allies
The US is applying influence not only directly on Moscow but also through Russia’s partner countries. Iran, Venezuela, and other allies provide Russia with resources and circumvent international sanctions, supporting Moscow’s military efforts.
Experts note that strikes on the logistical networks of these countries are already weakening Russia’s ability to sustain its aggression.
Former adviser to the US special envoy for Ukraine, Morgan Murphy, stated that Washington has “removed Venezuela from the chessboard” and is now focused on limiting Iran’s influence, as it supplies Moscow with attack drones and other military support.
Role of pressure on intermediaries
Retired US Air Force General Bruce Carlson emphasized that targeting intermediaries is a key element of the strategy.
According to him, Venezuela, Iran, and the so-called “shadow fleet” provide Russia with resources for war, and strikes on these channels reduce the Kremlin’s economic capabilities and complicate its ability to conduct military operations.
Proposal of 'Golden Bridge'
Alongside pressure, the US is offering Russia a way out of the conflict, the so-called "Golden Bridge," which includes a return to negotiations and partial restoration of economic ties.
The Kremlin has so far rejected this initiative, but analysts believe the further course of the war will largely depend on whether Moscow accepts international pressure and agrees to a diplomatic solution.
President Donald Trump was the first US leader to involve top military officials in strategic negotiations with Iran and Russia, demonstrating an approach in which the military directly influences foreign policy decisions.
Additionally, President Trump lifted the 25% tariffs on all goods from India, which had been previously imposed in response to India’s purchases of Russian oil, effectively changing trade policy toward New Delhi.
