During the full-scale war, 92 citizens of the United States were killed in fighting for Ukraine, according to The New York Times.

It is reported that the Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War is currently hosting an exhibition dedicated to foreign fighters participating in the war.

Exhibition director Yurii Horpynych said that "several thousand" Americans are serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the museum’s estimates, at least 92 US citizens have been killed in frontline battles.

The publication also noted that the US government is determined to avoid any hints of confrontation between US and Russian troops and provides little assistance to volunteers.

According to the NYT, the US nonprofit R.T. Weatherman Foundation helps fighters wounded while serving in the AFU, returns the remains of fallen soldiers to the United States, and tracks cases of those missing in action.

US military aid

With Donald Trump’s arrival at power in the United States, Washington significantly reduced military aid to Ukraine. At the same time, the American contribution to strengthening the AFU remains the largest among all Western allies.

US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker stated that Washington is providing Kyiv with weapons capable of striking distant targets on Russian territory.

According to media reports, Ukraine and the United States are discussing a deal for $100 billion worth of arms purchases.
