Ukraine has long-range capabilities but sees no strategic targets in Moscow
Ukraine's Defense Forces have weapons capable of reaching Moscow, but there are no significant strategic targets in the Russian capital, said Anatolii Khrapchynskyi, an aviation expert and Deputy Director General of a company producing electronic warfare equipment in a commentary to the RBC-Ukraine YouTube channel.
Khrapchynskyi stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have a sufficient number of munitions produced in Ukraine by private companies and capable of reaching a target at a distance of up to 2,000 kilometers. Given Moscow's geographical location, targeting the city is not a challenge.
"As for Moscow itself, I emphasize that there are no critical targets within the city. The key facilities are in the Moscow region, particularly production facilities," he explained.
Ukraine prepares to strike Russia with Trembita missiles
On January 3, The Telegraph reported that Ukraine's Trembita cruise missile "might be the biggest symbol of its drive for firepower autonomy." An upgraded version capable of reaching Moscow is currently under production.
Commenting on the news, aviation expert Anatolii Khrapchynskyi called it a "powerful headline" and emphasized that if Ukraine is restricted from using long-range Western weapons, it will develop its own. These missiles, he added, "will be capable of bringing democracy to the Russian swamps."
In late December, The Economist also reported on Trembita, highlighting Ukraine's efforts to advance its missile industry despite uncertainty over future military aid from allies. Trembita is one of the projects, but a more powerful model capable of reaching Moscow is being developed.
