Russian army shifts tactics, focusing on single-point breakthroughs – UAV company sergeant
The Russian army has started changing its tactics for offensives on the frontline. They are now focusing on breakthroughs at a single point, Senior Sergeant of the Strike UAV Company Yehor Firsov stated this in a comment to the RBC-Ukraine YouTube channel.
According to him, the enemy has concentrated forces near Kurakhove and Selydove. The Russian forces are likely to aim to align the frontline and then redeploy troops to Pokrovsk.
"The situation there is critical, with all types of weapons being used — intense artillery fire by the enemy, deployment of aerial bombs, and the use of a large number of drones. Of course, we respond, trying to take down their UAVs and deprive them of 'eyes,' and our guys are holding out as much as possible," Firsov said.
He also noted that the Russian army has recently changed its battlefield tactics. During the early stages of the full-scale invasion, they spread their forces thin and attempted to attack along the entire frontline, from Avdiivka to Kyiv. Now, the approach is entirely different.
"They understand well how that ended for them. Now, they are concentrating all their forces in specific areas, focusing their efforts, and launching large-scale assaults with up to ten brigades," he explained.
The soldier added that the Russian troops have a significant advantage in infantry, drones, and artillery.
Situation in the Kurakhove direction
Recently, Russia has concentrated its forces on several fronts in the Donetsk region. In particular, almost half of all daily combat clashes occur in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions.
Earlier, it was reported that on November 20, Russian forces attempted to breach defensive lines 29 times in areas around several settlements in the Kurakhove direction.
Additionally, a recent enemy attack destroyed the Stari Terny Dam of the Kurakhove Reservoir.
