Russia's most dangerous weapons today? Ukrainian aviation expert weighs in

Russian Iskander missiles and Shahed drones currently pose the greatest threat to Ukraine, as Russia possesses a large stockpile of such weapons, Ukrainian aviation expert Kostiantyn Kryvolap said.
He noted that Russia's capabilities with Kinzhal missiles are limited, and the aggressor also faces significant issues with launch platforms for such weapons.
At the same time, Russia has tried to modernize its Kalibr cruise missiles, even attempting to equip them with antennas to improve communication. However, Ukrainian F-16 and Mirage fighter jets have been fairly effective in intercepting them.
"As for cruise missiles, I consider them a lesser threat," Kryvolap emphasized. "It's the Iskander missiles and Shahed drones — especially in such large numbers, when our air defense lacks the capacity to take them down — that pose the real problem."
Massive strike on Ukraine
During the night of June 9, Russian forces launched a large-scale missile and drone attack on Ukraine. A total of 499 aerial targets were detected in Ukrainian airspace.
Notably, a grim record was set for drone attacks: Russia launched 479 drones in a single night.
The enemy also used four Kinzhal hypersonic missiles in the assault.
