Russia may be stockpiling its missiles not only for attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure but also in preparation for a large-scale offensive operation, states Ivan Tymochko, head of the Council of Reservists of the Ground Forces, in a comment to the RBC-Ukraine YouTube channel.

Tymochko reminded that the Russian forces have been stockpiling their missile arsenal for over two months. According to unofficial data, Russia may have around 1,500 missiles. The question now arises: why is the enemy stockpiling so many missiles?

"We currently only have one narrow assessment from all experts, suggesting that they are preparing to strike our infrastructure. But what if they are preparing for serious offensive operations? For that, they need to be ready both mentally, physically, and militarily," emphasized Tymochko.

He also drew attention to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's statement that Ukraine has already produced over 100 missiles. This indicates that the process of scaling up missile production in the country has begun.

He speculated that the combat operations "could shift" into airspace, and the course of events could change in favor of either side.

Rocket strikes on Ukraine

It should be noted that Russia has not carried out a large-scale missile strike on Ukraine since the end of August.

However, on November 11, the Air Force detected the takeoff of Russian strategic aviation and issued a warning about potential missile launches. But this turned out to be just a simulation of an attack.

More details on why Russia might be doing this can be found in the RBC-Ukraine material.
