Massive missile strike on Ukraine not revenge for SBU’s operation Spiderweb - Ukrainian analyst

Today's large-scale missile strike on Ukraine was not an act of revenge by Russia for Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) operation Spiderweb, stated political strategist Taras Zahorodniy in a comment to the RBC-Ukraine's YouTube channel.
According to the expert, all statements about revenge are merely attempts by the enemy to impose a narrative. Russian forces regularly prepare large-scale attacks against Ukraine and then claim they are merely defending themselves.
"That's why we shouldn't echo these claims. What they are doing is terrorizing the Ukrainian population. This is what they are doing systematically. This is their clear and consistent stance. Most likely, they had already been preparing this attack, but then Malyuk (SBU chief – ed.) came out with his Spiderweb and probably destroyed a lot of strategic aircraft," Zahorodniy added.
The expert noted that even Russian pro-war bloggers were dissatisfied with today's missile strike. This, he suggested, may indicate that Russia no longer has the capacity to carry out such operations with greater intensity.
"Remember the fall of 2022 or fall of 2023. Do you remember how much more frequently missiles were hitting, how often Ukraine was under attack? This now shows that things aren't going well for the Russians. Because they only have two options — they either strike or they can't. Then they start talking about goodwill gestures... This indicates that Russia's military potential is declining. If they could strike more, they would. If they can't, then they can't," the expert explained.
Operation Spiderweb
On June 1, Ukraine carried out a large-scale special operation, during which SBU drones struck four Russian air bases: Belaya, Dyagilevo, Olenya, and Ivanovo.
According to the SBU, the attack destroyed or damaged 41 Russian strategic aircraft. For more details on the operation, see the material by RBC-Ukraine.
