Fire is raging: Expert assesses consequences of the Russian HQ strike in Sevastopol
The strike on the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol undermines another propaganda myth of the terrorists about the most powerful air defense system. There's more to come, says military expert and retired Colonel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Vladyslav Seleznov, in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.
As Seleznov notes, typically, the military leadership is present at the headquarters, organizing the activities of specific subordinate forces and assets.
"Pay attention, recently there was an attack on the protected command post of the Black Sea Fleet in the area of the settlement Verkhnyosadove. Today, there was already an attack on the territory of the main building of the Black Sea Fleet headquarters," the military expert adds.
According to Seleznov, if you closely examine the photos and videos of the aftermath of the strike, you can see that the strike hit one of the wings of the building, causing damage to the roof and the upper floor. At the same time, there is also a fire visible in the central part of the building, which is located several meters away.
"Such things usually happen due to detonation and explosion inside. The fire is raging. And I believe that the headquarters and the personnel inside, as propagated by the terrorists, won't recover from this missile strike so quickly," Seleznov says.
"The most powerful air defense system"
The military expert also states that the Russians still do not have a functioning early warning system. The air raid warning sounded only after the strike. Therefore, the personnel were at their workplaces with the confidence instilled by propagandists in the "most powerful air defense system" on the territory of the main base of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol.
"But we see that Russian propagandists lie as soon as they open their mouths. Accordingly, the strike happened, and it was quite successful. Moreover, the local collaborator Razvozhaev believes that there may be a second attack," notes the expert.
"There's more to come"
Seleznov points out that all enemy military objects on the territory of Crimea must be destroyed. This is a mandatory point in the plan to liberate the peninsula.
"Right now, we are seeing elements of the implementation of that very plan. Systematically and methodically, we will undermine the combat potential of Putin's troops in Crimea and Sevastopol, thereby laying the groundwork for the further de-occupation of Crimea," Seleznov explains.
Strike on the Black Sea Fleet Headquarters in Sevastopol
Around 13:00, Russian terrorists again blocked traffic on the Kerch Bridge and suspended maritime transport in Sevastopol for the second time that day. This was due to the approach of rockets or UAVs to the peninsula.
Within a few minutes, information emerged about the operation of air defense systems in Saky, the Gvardeyskoye Garrison, over the Razdolensky district, and near Belbek Airport. Smoke screens were quickly deployed, particularly over Sevastopol Bay.
Around 13:15, explosions were heard in Sevastopol. Later, videos of the burning headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation appeared.
