US strike on Iran could come sooner than two weeks, Ukrainian expert says

The United States may decide to launch strikes on Iran within the coming days. Tehran likely has only a few days left to change the situation, said political analyst Ihor Reiterovych in a comment to RBC-Ukraine's YouTube channel.
Trump's warning
Reiterovych believes Iran might still agree to the conditions set by the US and sign a nuclear deal. Such an agreement is theoretically possible, although Israel may not like it.
"These two weeks didn't come out of nowhere... The point is, this is roughly the amount of time Israel has to sustain its military operation using its own resources," the analyst pointed out.
According to him, after those two weeks, Israel will either have to end its operation or rely on US support. Otherwise, the escalation could turn into a prolonged war - one that Israel cannot sustain, as Iran is capable of resisting.
"That's why Trump probably gave a couple of days to Iran. Because now a third US aircraft carrier group is entering the region… It's possible that by Sunday or Monday, if Iran doesn't make a clear move indicating readiness to negotiate, a strike will indeed happen," he added.
Nuclear weapon rumors
Reiterovych also emphasized that if the US does launch an attack, it will happen without the use of nuclear weapons, despite reports in some American media. He believes such rumors may be part of a pressure campaign on Iran, intended to force Tehran to the negotiating table more quickly.
"Of course, if the US were to use nuclear weapons, then Russia can just as easily use them in Ukraine and say, 'We weren't the first to do it.' That's why I find it highly unlikely," he added.
According to him, for the United States, it would be "a shot in the foot," as even Washington's most loyal allies would likely not accept it.
Reiterovych also noted that if the US does take direct military action against Iran, it will most likely be a large-scale strike, but no ground operation is expected.
"It will be purely an air war, likely followed by negotiations," he concluded.
Trump gives Iran two weeks
Earlier, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt quoted US President Donald Trump as saying he would make a decision on possible strikes against Iran within two weeks.
Meanwhile, Israeli media, citing sources, report that Israel expects a US decision in the coming days.
