The elected president of the United States, Donald Trump, may maintain the permission for Ukraine to strike Russian territory. However, there are conditions for this, states the advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podolyak, in a comment to the YouTube channel RBC-Ukraine.

"This is a matter of profitability. For Trump, pragmatic profitability is important, which he can gain in this direction. It could be reputational profitability, political profitability, or economic profitability. It could even be profitability through the humiliation of Putin. Any form of profitability will suit him," Podolyak noted.

According to him, if Trump sees that there is panic in Russia and Putin has hidden, then there are no reasons for him not to support strikes deep into Russia.

Podolyak also added that Trump will gain profitability if the US increases supplies of certain weapons to Ukraine. This would lead to the "final nullification of Russia" and a significant boost to the reputation of the US.

The advisor to the head of the President’s Office pointed out that with Trump, it is necessary to work through pragmatic communication channels, as he "wants to realize himself as a leader."

Strikes deep into Russia

It was recently reported that the administration of US President Joe Biden allowed Ukraine to use the provided ATACMS missiles for strikes on targets in Russian territory.

At the same time, on November 19, a source from RBC-Ukraine informed that Ukrainian defenders had carried out their first strike using ATACMS missiles on Russian territory.

As Reuters reported, a total of eight missiles were used in the attack.
