Ziferblat at Eurovision 2025 - Meaning behind their turquoise carpet outfits

On Sunday, May 11, the official opening ceremony of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 took place in Basel, Switzerland. Representatives from Ukraine, the band Ziferblat, made their entrance on the turquoise carpet, showcasing stylish outfits that blend emotional expression with cultural accents.
We offer you an insight into the outfits chosen by the musicians and the message they convey.
Valentyn and Daniil Leshchynskyi chose outfits from the Ukrainian haute couture brand J’amemme, which combined deep aesthetics with sculptural expressiveness.
This look has already become the brand's signature, gaining recognition from global stars such as Lily Collins, Coco Rocha, and Olivia Culpo.
The Leshchynskyis' outfits embodied the distinctive features of J’amemme - pleated textures, architectural silhouettes, and experiments with form that create a unique reality. Semi-transparent textures, sharp geometric lines, and a rich palette of black and purple emphasized the atmosphere of the night, while voluminous shapes and complex materials that change under the light added dynamism and drama.

The image of the prayer bird became the central symbol of the band's song Bird of Pray, which is featured in the competition.
These outfits not only complement the show but also visually express the band's music, reflecting resilience, depth, and modern Ukrainian identity.
Drummer Fedir Khodakov chose a total look from the Ukrainian brand Andreas Moskin, which has also gained popularity through its collaboration with President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
His look is inspired by the bohemian aesthetic and Ukrainian poetic cinema of the 1960s-70s, particularly the film White Bird with a Black Mark by Ivan Mykolaichuk and Yurii Illienko.
The collection presented on Khodakov explores contrasts between tradition and modernity, the familiar and the foreign, highlighting the depth of Ukrainian culture.
Next week, the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 kicks off. Eurovision fans will gather on May 13 for the first semi-final, where Ukraine's representative, Ziferblat, will take the stage. Then, it will be revealed whether Ukraine can make it to the final on May 17.
