Russia is preparing for new armed conflicts in the coming years, while the Kremlin continues to destabilize Europe, according to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“Russia continues this war and its destabilization of Europe, supports the Iranian regime with intelligence, and thereby prolongs the war in that region, while also preparing for new conflicts in the coming years. This threat of constant war across the map must be stopped,” Zelenskyy said.
According to him, only every country together can stop Russia: America, Europe, and other global actors. Leader-level meetings are needed to truly resolve everything.
“I have instructed the team to continue working as actively as possible with partners so that diplomacy is substantive and that, in particular, humanitarian issues such as prisoner exchanges are resolved,” the head of state added.
Is Russia preparing for a major war?
Earlier, Western intelligence and analysts had already warned about the militarization of Russia. Before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian president Vladimir Putin made identical statements, denying aggressive intentions, which is now also observed regarding the Baltic countries.
Russia has already begun the first phase of preparation for the strategic deployment of troops near EU borders. According to the latest data, the Kremlin has reduced the preparation time for a possible global conflict, shifting the economy onto a military footing.
Recently, Europe also simulated a potential Russian attack on Lithuania. The simulation results showed that the key factor in deterrence is the speed of NATO allies’ response and the readiness of local forces for the first strike.
