Zelenskyy: US supports 'winter package' for Ukraine

The United States supports a "winter package" for Ukraine that will consist of several components, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with Axios.
The head of state said Washington supports a separate "winter package" for Ukraine that will include air defense and energy assistance.
"It's not only about missiles. It's also about LNG and it's also about steps of de-escalation," Zelenskyy stressed.
Earlier, during a meeting with US President Donald Trump in the United States, Zelenskyy asked him to provide Ukraine with an emergency "winter package" of interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems.
According to the president, Ukraine wants to secure 300 interceptor missiles before the start of winter. Zelenskyy said Ukrainian stocks of interceptor missiles are nearly depleted and that without them, the country cannot defend itself against ballistic missiles.
Zelenskyy explained that if the problem is not resolved before winter, Russian attacks could destroy Ukrainian power plants, leaving millions of Ukrainians without electricity and heating and creating a humanitarian crisis.
It was recently reported that Donald Trump shared a Washington Post article whose author proposed ways to address the shortage of missiles for Ukraine’s air defense.
One of the ideas discussed in the article is to establish production of Patriot air defense missiles in Ukraine.
