Zelenskyy unveils plans for new air defense format

Ukraine has begun discussing a new format for air defense against Russian attacks with its partners. However, US participation is required, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a press conference following the Coalition of the Willing meeting.
"Regarding air defense, we are considering a new format. Yesterday, we spoke for the first time with Emmanuel (French President Emmanuel Macron - ed.) about this format, and today we shared it with our partners and President Trump," Zelenskyy said.
He added that if the US gives a positive signal, the details of the format can be revealed.
Regular Russian attacks
Earlier, Zelenskyy emphasized that Russian strikes on Ukraine have become regular.
On the night of August 28, Russian forces used nearly 600 drones and dozens of missiles to attack Ukraine.
The strike partially destroyed a residential high-rise in Kyiv, killing more than 20 people.
US officials have also acknowledged that Russia has intensified attacks on civilian cities in Ukraine. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent described the strikes as happening "in a despicable manner."
