Ukraine will be ready to halt strikes on Russian oil refineries if Russia stops attacking Ukraine's energy infrastructure, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Zelenskyy stressed that Russia is the real cause of the war in Europe.
According to him, it is already possible to stop attacks on energy infrastructure, but Russian leader Vladimir Putin does not want to do so.
"Ukraine will be ready to stop striking Russian oil refineries if Russia stops striking our energy infrastructure. Any de-escalation steps must be reciprocal and backed by real guarantees," the president said.
As a reminder, US President Donald Trump is demanding that Ukraine immediately stop striking Russian oil refineries.
Ukrainian officials have made their position clear: a source familiar with the matter told RBC-Ukraine that the attacks on Russian refineries will continue until an energy ceasefire is reached.
Meanwhile, Trump again accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of being "unwilling to make a deal" and praised Russian dictator Vladimir Putin for reaching the diesel deal.
